A 62-foot North Star Yacht will headline a fleet of more than 80 powerboats from 18 to 62 feet long at the Columbia River Showcase June 8-10 at Tomahawk Bay in Portland, Ore.

The in-water show will be situated at the west end of Tomahawk Bay's 800-slip moorage, an idyllic showcase for the best deals on quality new and brokerage vessels. A bounty of fine yachts including sportfishers, express cruisers and sedans will be on display at the show.

Smaller fishing boats, ski boats, runabouts and aluminum boats will be displayed in Tomahawk Bay's upland facility. Attendees there can enjoy the relaxing sights and sounds of the show, as well as a barbecue feast, or listen to smooth jazz at the Hidden Bay Cafe. The cafe boasts an outdoor patio with an excellent view of the in-water show.

Big boat fans will enjoy stepping aboard several large vessels. Southwest Washington boatbuilder North Star Yachts will display a 62 pilothouse motoryacht. The vessel is one of four semi-custom yachts built by the Kalama, Wash., during the past two years.

Also on display, the 57-foot Carver Voyager Pilothouse features the amenities of the finest custom yacht, including a full wet bar with icemaker, three staterooms adorned with high-gloss cherry wood cabinetry, and a fully furnished salon with ultra leather lounge, vcr and large galley.

Specialty boats will include Hillsboro, Calif., resident Steve Straub's fully restored 22-foot Stan-Craft Torpedo, one of six of these rare mahogany boats in existence. A 57-foot Taiwanese-built Angel yacht will also be ready for inspection.

Other special activities include free admission on Friday from noon to 7 p.m. On Saturday, smooth jazz radio station KKJZ will be awarding prizes at the show.
